FansubPanel

Desktop tools

Downloading FansubPanel's desktop programs from the Team Hub, creating a tool key and connecting it to a program, the tool access requirements, and tools your team shares itself.

Updated:

FansubPanel has desktop programs you install on your computer: Webtoon İndirici, Resim Birleştirici and Webtoon Watermark. The programs connect to the panel with your account, through a tool key.

Where to download them

Team Hub → Tools tab. FansubPanel's own tools are on cards with the FansubPanel badge, showing the version number, file size, release date and release notes. Download gets the program; the clock icon (Versions) opens the version history and the retained older versions.

Team Hub → Tools: FansubPanel tools and the My Tool Keys shortcut

The programs update themselves ("Official tool · updates itself"); you don't need to download each new version again.

Create a tool key

  1. Click your avatar at the top right and choose My Tool Keys. (You can also get there from the Tool keys card in Account Settings or from the shortcut on the Tools tab.)
  2. Press New key.
  3. Type a Key name (e.g. "Home computer"). If your account has a password, also enter Your current password.
  4. Press Create. The key appears in the list with the New label.
  5. Press Copy (or reveal the key with the eye icon) and paste it into the key field of the desktop program.

All FansubPanel tools use the same key. A separate key per computer is recommended, so if you lose a computer you only revoke that computer's key.

Managing keys

Each key shows its status (Active or Expired) and its Created, Expires and Last used dates.

  • You can view your key any time with the eye icon and copy it with Copy.
  • Revoke turns the key off; the program using it can no longer connect. If you revoke a key, enter the new one in every program that used it.
  • A key is valid for 365 days from the day it was created.
  • You can have at most 5 valid keys at once; revoke one to create another.
  • The key acts on behalf of your account: don't share it, and revoke it right away if you think someone else has it.

Who can use them

You need all three to use the desktop tools:

  • Your email address is verified.
  • You are a member or the owner of an active team.
  • Tool access is enabled for that team.

Tool access is enabled per team by FansubPanel; there is no switch for it in the team settings. Without access, the My Tool Keys page says Tool access is off and gives the reason (e.g. "Tool access is not enabled for your team."). With access, Teams you can use it with is listed at the bottom of the page.

A program can only do what you can do in the panel; you cannot upload files with a tool to a step you could not open in the panel. In a team whose subscription has expired, the tools keep reading data but cannot upload files or complete steps.

Your team's own tools

The Tools tab also holds scripts and programs your team shares itself. Someone with the Manage Team Assets permission can share a tool with Add Tool, as a file (PY, ZIP, 7Z, RAR, EXE, MSI, JAR, BAT, PS1, SH; up to 100 MB) or as a link (GitHub, Drive and so on). These files are not scanned for viruses; only share and download tools from sources you trust. For the other Team Hub tabs, see Team Hub.
