Security and sessions
Updating your password, seeing and closing active sessions, linking Discord and Google accounts, and changing and re-verifying your email address.
Updated:
The settings that protect your account are on the Account Settings page: click your avatar at the top right and choose Account Settings.
Update Password

- Type your Current Password.
- Fill in New Password and Confirm New Password. The password must be at least 8 characters and include letters and numbers; passwords found in known breaches are not accepted.
- Press Save.
When you change your password, your sessions on all other devices are closed; you stay signed in on the device you are using. Sessions opened with "remember me" become invalid too.
If you forgot your password, log out and use Forgot Password on the login screen to get a reset link by email.
Active sessions
Shows which devices are signed in to your account: the device, IP address and Last seen. The device you are using is marked This device.

Close a session you don't recognise with Close session. That device cannot get back in even if it signed in with "remember me"; it has to log in again. You cannot close your current session here; use Logout for that.
If you see a session you don't recognise, don't stop at closing it — change your password too.
Linked Accounts
Link your Discord or Google account to sign in with it in one click.

- Connect takes you to Discord's or Google's consent screen; once you approve, the account is linked.
- Disconnect removes the link; you can no longer sign in with that account.
- A linked account may use a different email than your FansubPanel account (Different email). Sign-in is matched by the provider's account identity, not by email.
- You must keep at least one way to sign in. If your account has no password, you cannot remove your last linked account.
Changing your email address
Change the Email Address field on the Profile Information card.
- If your account has a password, a Current Password field appears; type your password. (Accounts opened with Google or Discord that have no password are not asked.)
- Press Save.
- A verification email goes to your new address, and a warning that the address changed goes to your old one.
- Until you verify the new address your account counts as unverified, and the panel screens that require verification send you to the verification page. If the email does not arrive, press Resend verification email.
If your old address received an "email changed" warning and you did not make the change, reset your password right away and contact us.
Good to know
- The tool key you use for the desktop tools acts on behalf of your account; don't share it with anyone. If you think it has leaked, revoke it: Desktop tools.
- An account with an unverified email cannot use the desktop tools either.
