Starting with a sample series
The one-click sample series for an empty panel: what it contains, why it does not count against your series quota, and how to delete it when you are done.
Updated:
A newly created team has an empty panel. To see how the product works before opening your own series, you can set up a ready-made sample series: it comes with an opened chapter, a configured workflow and a filled glossary.
Where to find it
While your team has no series, the No series yet banner appears at the top of the Dashboard.

- Start with a sample series creates the sample series and takes you to its series page.
- Add my own series opens the new series form directly: Creating a series.
What the sample series contains
- Series: Sample Series — Keeper of the Silent City.
- One chapter: chapter 1, Awakening. Open it and walk through the steps: Chapter page.
- Workflow: your team's default workflow is used. If the team has no workflow at all, one is set up from a ready-made template.
- Glossary: three sample terms (Kagetori, 結界, senpai), each with a note on why it is translated that way. This is where you see how the glossary appears on the translation screen.
The sample series is a real series: it works on the same screens with the same rules. You can even start real work in it if you like.
Deleting it when you are done
The sample series is never deleted automatically; deleting it is up to you.
- Open the series page.
- Press the ⋮ (More actions) button at the top right.
- Choose Delete Series and confirm with Yes, Delete Series.

The deleted series moves to Trash together with its chapters.
Who can do this
Only people with the Create Series permission see the banner and the button: the team owner and, by default, the Fansub Admin and Fansub Moderator. Deleting requires the Delete Series permission.
Good to know
- The sample series does not count against your plan's series limit. Even on the free plan, you lose none of your slots for real series.
- Each team has a single sample series. Pressing the button again does not create a new one; it takes you to the existing sample series ("You already had a sample series; we brought you to it.").
- The banner only appears while the team has no series at all. Once you open a series, the banner no longer shows.
