Discord and Telegram
Announcing team events to a Discord channel with a webhook, the test message, which events are sent; linking your personal notifications to Telegram.
Updated:
The two do different jobs:
- Discord goes to the team's channel: the team events you pick (chapter completed, new chapter, step ready…) are posted to the team's Discord channel as a single message. It is set up once per team.
- Telegram is personal: your own notifications arrive in your Telegram account. Everyone links it for themselves.
Discord: setup
Fansub Settings → the Discord notifications section (Fansub Settings in the Management menu; see Fansub Settings).

- In Discord, open the settings of the channel that should receive announcements (the gear next to the channel name).
- Go to Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook, then Copy Webhook URL.
- In the panel, paste the URL into Webhook URL. It must start with
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/(orhttps://discordapp.com/api/webhooks/); no other address is accepted. - Tick the events to announce and press Save.
- Try it with Send test message. On success the channel gets "✅ FansubPanel connection test successful!" and the panel says Test message sent to the Discord channel.; otherwise Could not reach Discord — check the URL.
The test uses the saved URL: if you changed it, save first (The test uses the saved URL — save your new URL first.). The section's How do I create a webhook? heading has the same steps.
Discord: which events are sent
Only the events you tick are sent; if you tick none, nothing is posted.
- Series events: Chapter completed, New chapter opened (bulk opening is a single summary), New series added, Looking for someone.
- Team workflow: A step is ready (fires on every step handover — can get busy on an active series), Revision requested.
- Hub: New Hub asset (watermark, font, PSD template or tool).
Messages are written in the team owner's language. To @mention the assignee in the channel, members must link their Discord account under Account Settings → Linked Accounts; otherwise only their name is shown. The person who finished and handed over a step is not mentioned in that handover's message.
Discord: who can do this
The webhook URL, the events and the test button are available to the team owner, Fansub Admin or anyone with Manage Fansub.
Telegram: linking
Account Settings → the Telegram row at the top of the Notification Preferences card.

- Click Connect Telegram. The panel's bot opens in Telegram in a new tab.
- Start the bot in Telegram. The link code is valid for 10 minutes.
- The panel detects the connection by itself (Start the bot in the Telegram app; the connection will be detected automatically.); the row shows Connected and your Telegram username. The bot also sends a confirmation message.
- Pick which notifications go to Telegram in the table's Telegram column. Telegram switches start off; to turn them all on, use Enable All next to Telegram:.
To unlink, click Disconnect.
Telegram: what arrives
The same notifications as in the panel, for the types whose Telegram switch you turned on: step ready, revisions, mentions, series chat, invitations and join requests, announcements, account and billing. Marketing & News never goes to Telegram. Types and rules: Notifications.
Common questions
- The Telegram row doesn't appear at all. Telegram is only offered when a Telegram bot is set up on the platform; if the row is missing, the feature isn't available right now.
- The bot said "The link code is invalid or has expired". The code (10 minutes) may have expired; click Connect Telegram in the panel again.
- The Discord test fails. The webhook may have been deleted in Discord or the URL copied incompletely; create a new webhook, save its URL and try again.
