Looking for People
Post a "looking for someone" call inside your team for an empty job on a series, apply or join, approve applications and manage the recruiting settings.
Updated:
When a job on a series is left empty (translation, cleaning, typesetting…), you post a "looking for someone" call to the team. Team members see the call and those who fit apply; the accepted person is assigned to that step on that series, and their work shows up in My Tasks. Calls are internal to the team: someone who is not a member cannot apply.
Where to find it
In the left menu, open Looking for People. The menu item only appears when recruiting is turned on for the team. The page has four tabs:
- Calls: the team's open calls (everyone).
- My applications: your applications and their status (everyone).
- Incoming applications: applications waiting for approval (only people who can approve).
- Settings: recruiting settings (only people who can change them).

Posting a call
- Click Post a call.
- Pick the series under Which series?.
- Under What are you looking for?, pick one or more roles. You can pick several; each becomes its own call and the team gets one notification. A role already open on that series is marked already open and cannot be picked.
- Optionally add a Note (optional) (up to 300 characters); there are ready-made suggestion buttons too (such as 1 chapter a week).
- Click Publish call.

On a series that runs on a one-person workflow, you are first asked What kind of help do you need?:
- A helper next to me: you share the same job; the series setup does not change.
- I want to hand over a job: for example, someone else translates and you do the rest. When someone joins and is approved, the series switches to the split setup you chose (Which split setup?); finished chapters are not touched. If the team has no multi-step workflow yet, one must be created in Workflows first.
When a call opens, team members are notified (except the person who opened it and those already working on the series). If the Looking for someone event is selected for the team's Discord, it is posted to the channel too (see Fansub Settings).
Applying to a call
- Find the call on the Calls tab. You can filter with the role chips or Fits me; Fits me shows calls that match your roles in the team.
- Click Apply. You can write a few sentences in Introduce yourself (optional) (up to 500 characters).
- Click Send application. Your application goes to a manager or staff member; follow its status under My applications.
If the button says Join instead of Apply, no approval is needed: you are assigned to the step right away. This happens when Members can join postings without approval is on for the team, or when you can already make assignments on that series.
If you cannot join, the reason appears in place of the button: You have this role, Your request is pending, Posting closed and so on.
My applications shows the status of each application (Pending, Accepted, Declined, Withdrawn, Call closed). Take back a pending application with Withdraw; if it was declined with a reason, the reason is shown. Pending applications and decisions from the last 60 days are listed.
Approving applications
On the Incoming applications tab, each application shows the person's number of active tasks, the steps they finished in the last 90 days and their message.
- Approve assigns the person to that step on that series. For a hand-over call, the confirmation dialog tells you which setup the series switches to.
- With Decline you can add a Reason (optional, sent to the person).
The person who opened the call, or anyone who can make assignments on that series, can close it with Close posting on the call card; pending applications close without a decision and the people are notified.
Settings
The Settings tab has three switches; the same settings also live in Fansub Settings → Series and work:
- Recruiting is on: when off, Looking for People in the sidebar, recruiting on series and joining are hidden. Turning it off closes the open calls (it asks for confirmation).
- Series workers can post for their own series (on by default): when off, only admins and staff can open a call.
- Members can join postings without approval (off by default): when on, a member is assigned as soon as they press Join.

Who can do this
- Post a call: people who can make assignments on that series (the team owner, Fansub Yöneticisi, Fansub Görevlisi and anyone with Assign Series Roles) on any series; members assigned to a step on a series can also post for their own series (if the setting is on).
- Approve / decline: people who can make assignments on that series.
- Change the settings: the team owner, Fansub Yöneticisi and anyone with Assign Series Roles.
- Apply: every team member.
Good to know
- Only an open call can be joined; a step nobody is assigned to does not count as a call by itself.
- When recruiting is off and someone who can change the setting opens the Looking for People address, they are taken straight to the switch in Fansub Settings.
