One-person workflow

The fixed single-step workflow for people who translate, clean and typeset on their own computer; upload the finished pages or share a link and complete the chapter.

Updated:

If you translate, clean and typeset on your own computer, you have a single job left in the panel: upload the chapter's finished pages and press Complete. The Solo (Upload the Finished Chapter) workflow is made for this. It needs no translation text, RAW, source files, revisions or quality control.

When to use it

  • When one person prepares the chapter from start to finish and the team only wants to track the delivered chapter.
  • It is not the right choice if you want to write the translation in the panel: translation lines, proofreading comments and glossary warnings only exist in workflows with a translator step. If you want to write the translation in the panel and leave the image work to one person, the Single Track template (translator → visual editor) fits better (Workflows).

Attaching the workflow to a series

Every team has exactly one of these workflows and the system provides it: it sits on the Workflows page with a Fixed badge ("Provided by the system; cannot be edited, cloned or deleted."). You cannot add this step to your own workflows.

To attach a series to it, change the series' workflow to Solo (Upload the Finished Chapter) on the Step assignments screen. Chapters opened from then on follow the new workflow. When switching between the one-person workflow and a multi-step one, the series must have no chapter in progress; if it does, the switch is refused and you are told which chapters to finish or delete first. As soon as a chapter is opened its single step is active; there is no other step to wait for.

Step by step

The header of the solo screen with the Complete button

  1. Your turn → Continue on the chapter page, or My Tasks → Go to Task. The Solo (Upload the Finished Chapter) screen opens.
  2. Drag the finished pages onto the upload box, or click it and choose them. Accepted types: PNG, JPG/JPEG, GIF, WebP, PSD and PDF; up to 100 MB per file.
  3. The pages appear in the Finished Pages grid. Reorder them by dragging or with Move Up / Move Down; delete a wrong file (several at once with Select All → Delete (N)). Download All (ZIP) downloads what you uploaded.
  4. Press Complete in the header. The chapter is completed and you land on the chapter page.

With neither pages nor a link it will not complete: "Upload the pages or share a link first."

Notes, the link card and the upload area on the solo screen

If you uploaded the pages to Drive, MEGA or similar, paste the link into the Or share a link card; no file upload needed:

  1. Enter the address in External Link. If you leave out https://, it is added for you.
  2. Optionally pick a Platform and add access details under Notes.
  3. Save Link. The card turns into Link to the finished chapter is saved; you can copy the link, open it with Open link, change it with Edit or delete it with Remove link.
  4. Complete.

Unlike the other steps there is no "files or link" mode to choose: the link and files can sit side by side; do whichever is easier.

Who can do this

The person assigned to this step in the series, plus the team owner, Fansub Admin and Fansub Moderator (Step assignments).

Good to know

  • If you need to fix a page after completing, Undo in the screen's Workflow panel or on the chapter page reopens the step (Chapter status and reopening). This workflow has no revisions or quality control, so this is the way to fix things.
  • The Notes box saves automatically as on the other steps; use it for notes about the chapter.
