The translation screen
Write a draft on the Translator screen, import a file, use the glossary, take one last look before sending, the duplicate-text check, and line fixes in revision mode.
Updated:
On the Translator screen you write the chapter's translation. The text is kept line by line: one line per balloon. The text you send goes to the proofreader (or, if the workflow has none, to the typesetter or visual editor).
The top of the screen, the Workflow panel and Notes work the same on every step: What every step screen shares.
Where to find it
Your turn → Continue on the chapter page, the Translator row in the chapter's workflow list, or My Tasks → Go to Task.
Screen layout

- At the top, RAW Files (Reference): thumbnails of the uploaded RAW pages with download and preview buttons. If the RAW was shared as an external link, the link shows here, together with the source info the uploader entered.
- My Source: I'm using RAW files or I'm using a different source. For a different source, Source link is required and Source note is optional. If the chapter has no RAW, only the link fields are shown.
- Translation: the main text field.
- SFX Translations Included: tick it to tell the typesetter that sound effects were translated too.
- On the side, Statistics (characters, words, lines, text version, last saved) and the Glossary.
Opening the RAW in a reading view

The eye button on the RAW card opens the RAW Preview page: pages are stacked one under another, you can switch between Full Width and Fit, and Download downloads them all. Back to Translation takes you back.
Step by step
- Type or paste the translation into Translation. The draft saves itself two seconds after you stop typing. While there are unsaved changes an Unsaved badge shows; if saving fails you see Couldn't save and Retry. If you try to leave the page with unsaved text, the browser warns you.
- If you already have a file, use Import from File: a TXT, DOCX or MD file, up to 5 MB. Choose the file in the window that opens or drag it onto the window; TXT and MD files are previewed. Import replaces the current translation text with the imported content.
- Choose My Source; if you used a different source, enter its link.
- Press Complete in the header. The last-look window opens (below).
- Send. You land on the chapter page and the next step opens.
An empty text, or a different source without a link, is not sent: "Please fill in the translation content." / "You selected an external source but did not enter a URL."
Glossary
The Glossary on the side shows the series glossary:
- Search terms with the search box; filter with All and Important (N).
- Click a term to copy its translation to the clipboard.
- + (Quick Add) adds a new term without leaving the screen.
- Go to Glossary opens the series glossary page.
If your text contains glossary terms that look untranslated, an Untranslated terms detected warning appears below the translation field; click a term to copy it. The glossary itself: Glossary.
One last look before sending
Complete does not send the text right away; the One last look before sending window opens first. The text that will go out is shown with numbered lines, and lines flagged by the automatic check are highlighted:
- characters that look untranslated (Korean, Japanese, Chinese letters),
- leftover markers (
???,[?],(?),TODO,XXX, "çevrilecek"), - the same line of at least 20 characters appearing more than once (a copy-paste accident),
- very short text (fewer than 120 characters or fewer than 3 non-empty lines).
With no findings it reads "The automatic check found nothing." Back to editing closes the window, Send sends the text. Findings do not block sending; they are only there for you to check.
"This text already exists in another chapter"
If your text is identical to the translation of another chapter in your team, the server asks: This text already exists in another chapter — with the series and chapter it matches. Most of the time the translation was pasted into the wrong chapter. Cancel stops the send and keeps your draft; if the text is right, Send anyway. Only your own team's chapters are compared.
Revision mode

If the proofreader (or, in a workflow without one, the typesetter or visual editor) asks for a fix in the text, an Incoming Revision Requests banner appears at the top. You can preview the request, then Accept it or Reject it with a reason. Until you accept, the text is locked ("There is a pending revision request. ACCEPT it above to be able to edit the text.").
Once accepted, the screen switches to revision mode:
- At the top, the request's reason: "Request from the … step" and what was written.
- A three-step strip: Edit → Changes → Submit. Move with Next and Back.
- Edit: the text is listed line by line. Hover over a line to see Edit, Undo (reverts the line to its original) and Delete line. Between lines, Add line inserts a new one (there is also Add a line at the top and Add a line at the end). Deleting asks for confirmation; the lines below move up by one and comments anchored to that line are marked resolved. The last remaining line cannot be deleted.
- Comments: on the right on wide screens, behind the (N) button on narrower ones. Click a comment to jump to its line; Resolve marks it resolved.
- Changes: lines changed, added and removed since the revision started. Show all lines / Changed lines only.
- Submit: the Revision Summary; if comments are still open it reads "… comment(s) are still unresolved. You can send anyway." The button is Send to Proofreader when the proofreader asked, otherwise Complete Revision.
If the wrong chapter's translation was uploaded, do not fix it line by line: Replace whole translation lets you paste the new text or Import from file (.txt, .md or .docx). Tick I understand the whole translation will change. and press Replace translation; open line comments are closed and the previous text is kept in the revision history.
The other side of the request (the proofreader): Proofreading and revisions.
If something is wrong with the RAW
If the workflow has a RAW Provider step, Request Revision in the header asks the RAW uploader to fix missing or wrong pages.
Who can do this
The person assigned to the Translator step in this series, plus the team owner, Fansub Admin and Fansub Moderator (Step assignments). Before your turn you can open the screen and look at or download the RAW, but you cannot write: the fields are locked and it reads "This step is read-only right now; the translation cannot be changed."
Good to know
- If you notice a mistake after sending, Undo in the Workflow panel or on the chapter page reopens the step. If someone has already started on the next step you cannot undo; wait for them to request a revision instead (Chapter status and reopening).
- The draft belongs to the chapter, not to a person: anyone who opens the same chapter's translator screen sees the same draft.
